The Largest Bottle Of Whiskey On Record Went For $1.4 Million At Auction.

The World Record's most expensive bottle of whiskey, called The Intrepid, was auctioned off for $1.4 million, as relayed by the auction house Lyon & Turnbull. The bottle, standing 5 feet 11 inches and weighing 2 tons, was given the Guinness World Record in September 2021. It contains 82.16 US gallons of whiskey, or 311 liters. That's the equivalent of 444 standard bottles -- enough for 5,287 whiskey sours made with 2 ounces of whiskey each. The 1989 Macallan single malt spent 32 years in oak casks at Macallan's distillery before being bottled in 2021. It is a pale gold and has a sweet taste with notes of apple, the auction house says. The Biden administration is working to get temporary transport containers for Ukrainian grain to the United States, a stop gap measure as it seeks to mitigate a growing food crisis created by Russia months-long blockade of Ukrainian ports, according to senior administration officials. The United States is sending storage containers to Ukraine to help salvage some of the 20 million tons of grain that are currently stuck inside the country.
